New Delhi, Feb 3: Petrol price on Saturday, February 3, was decreased by a paisa and diesel rate was slashed by 4 paisa, bringing a slight relief to the people two days after the presentation of Union Budget 2018. The price of petrol in Delhi and Mumbai today is Rs 73.09 per litre and Rs 80.95 per litre, respectively. On the other hand, the diesel price is at Rs 64.07 per litre and Rs 68.22 per litre in Delhi and Mumbai, respectively. On February 2, the petrol and diesel price in the national capital was at Rs 73.10 per litre and Rs 64.11 per litre whereas, in Mumbai the rates were a little bit on a higher side. In the maximum city, the petrol was being sold at Rs 80.96 per litre whereas, the diesel rate was at 68.27 per litre.

The petrol and diesel prices have been on the rise since around two months now, under the dynamic pricing system that came into effect in June 2017. While the price of diesel is at an all-time high, the price of petrol is highest since the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power in 2014.
