Shirdi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the valedictory function of the Sai Baba Samadhi centenary celebrations in Shirdi on Friday, authorities of the Sai Temple Trust said. PM Modi’s visit comes a day after the centenary celebrations ended in the holy city of Shirdi. The celebrations were inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind by unfurling of the centenary flag in October last year and PM Modi will announce the closure, said reports. The PM will also address a gathering which will be attended by Governor Vidyasagar Rao, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, MoS for Defence and many legislators. He would also be laying the foundation stone of four important projects of the Shirdi Sai Trust. Of the four projects, PM Modi would be part of ‘bhumi pujan’ of a 10 MW solar power system worth Rs 40 crore. The temple requires 12 MW power but can produce only 2 MW worth of power. The next project is the inauguration of a Rs 158 crore hi-tech educational complex which will house a school, college, auditorium, playground, library and laboratory. PM Modi would also lay the foundation stone of a Rs 166 crore Sail Knowledge Park which would have a museum and a theme park.  A hall would be built at the cost of Rs 112 crore so that Sai devotees can attend darshan. With this hall, about 18,000 devotees would be able to collectively attend darshan. It would directly be connected with Sai samadhi through a skywalk. On Thursday, PM Modi came under the attack of NDA ally Shiv Sena when its chief Uddhav Thackeray raked up the Ram Temple issue by saying he was going to visit Ayodhya in November. Addressing party workers in Mumbai, Thackeray said he was saddened that Ram Mandir had not been built yet and added that he would be visiting Ayodhya on November 25. During his annual Vijaya Dashmi rally, Thackeray didn’t spare Prime Minister Narendra Modi either. NDTV quoted him as saying, ” You go to countries which we might not have even seen in geography textbooks. But why haven’t you gone to Ayodhya?” he asked, adding that in his Ayodhya visit, he would raise this question to the PM.
