New Delhi: As the number of coronavirus cases in the country has crossed 500 and the whole nation is under complete lockdown to contain the spread of the virus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed the nation to update on the issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. While addressing the nation, he said lockdown of 21 days is a long time, but this is important for you and your family’s safety. “I believe that every Indian will not only successfully tackle this challenge but also emerge victorious in this time of crisis,” he added. Notably, this is PM Modi’s second address to the nation in less than a week as the country is putting best efforts to contain the virus.

Last week, PM Modi in his previous address to the nation, had urged people to follow a ‘Janata Curfew’ on Sunday which was, by and large, a huge success as citizens remained indoors.
The development comes as the number of coronavirus positive patients in India has gone up to 519, as per the updates from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
