Lucknow, Feb 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit 2018 in Lucknow. He also spoke at the inaugural session at the two-day UP Investors Summit. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present alongside the Prime Minister. Speaking at the inaugural session, Reliance Industries Ltd Chairman Mukesh Ambani said, “Jio is one of the largest investors in UP with investments over Rs 20,000 Cr investment. Finland, the Netherlands, Japan, Czech Republic, Thailand, Slovakia and Mauritius have been identified as country partners for the event. The event aims at showcasing Uttar Pradesh as an industrial hub for various sectors such as civil aviation, tourism, dairy, film including others.
Several Central Ministers including Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley are scheduled to speak at the two-day summit. President Ram Nath Kovind will be present at the closing ceremony of the Investors Summit tomorrow.
Tight security has been put in place in Lucknow for the summit. The city has also been decorated and lit for the event. Besides investor sessions, the event will also witness cultural programs by local artists of the state.
The Prime Minister had inaugurated the global investors’ summit in Guwahati and the ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’ event earlier this month.
