New Delhi, August 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday extended Raksha Bandhan greetings to the citizens on the festival. The festival reaffirmed the strong bond of love and affection between brothers and sisters.
The Prime Minister extended the greeting and tweeted, “Warm greeting to all the citizens on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.”
In his message, Kovind said, “Warm greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The unique festival of Raksha Bandhan celebrates the sacred bond of commitment between sisters and brothers. May Raksha Bandhan, symbolising the virtues of love, affection and mutual trust, bring happiness and prosperity to all.”
Wishing the nation on Raksha Bandhan, Vice President M Hamid Ansari said, “On this occasion, let us rededicate ourselves to upholding the dignity and respect of women in our country.”
