New Delhi, April 26: Reacting after the thumping majority in the civic polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday thanked the people of Delhi for giving the mandate and showing faith in the Bharatiya Janta Party. Lauding the work of workers of the party in civic polls, PM Modi said that it is their hard work of the party volunteers which made the victory resounding. In a tweet, PM Modi said, “Grateful to the people of Delhi for the faith in BJP. I laud the hardwork of team @BJP4Delhi which made the resounding MCD win possible.”

In an earlier development, BJP President Amit Shah said that win of the Bharatiya Janta Party reflects the confidence of people in the policies pursued by the National Democratic Alliance led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shah said the people of Delhi rejected the negative politics of Aam Aadmi Party. Shah said, “This is an unprecedented win for BJP. I express my gratitude to the people of Delhi. This is the victory of (Prime Minister Narenda) Modiji’s leadership.”
Bharatiya Janta Party has swept the civic polls by winning more than 170 out of 270 wards. The saffron Party surpassed its previous results. BJP had won 138 wards. An improved performance by the Bharatiya Janta party suggests that the party has succeeded in denting the vote bank of Aam Aadmi Party. BJP succeeded in snatching the stronghold like Burari from the Aam Aadmi Party.
