New Delhi: A 25-year-old man’s body was discovered floating in a pond in southwest Delhi, stated the police on Tuesday. When police fished the body of Ram, there were no injury marks on his body.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Devender Arya, a sweeper informed the police when he first found the body of Balwant Ram floating in the pond. The deceased was identified as a native of Chamoli district in Uttarakhand.
Upon investigation, police found that Balwant Ram previously worked in a canteen at the Golf Course. Ram, a resident of Sagarpur, had left the canteen at around 10 pm on Monday. However, he did reach his house that day, said the DCP said. A case has been registered in the matter, added the DCP.
In a similar incident on September, Shibu Debnath, a Trinamool Congress worker was found dead in a pond near his house at Bhangar in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. The family members of the deceased accused BJP workers of murdering him. However, a senior police from Bhangar police station said that there were no proofs to support the allegations made by the family members.
