Bengaluru Power Cut: The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), which earlier announced massive power cuts in selected areas of Bengaluru from December 4 to December 8, is expected to end the outage today, December 8. The power distributor declared power cuts due to major maintenance works, upgrades and safety checks. The power cuts occurred majorly in Whitefield, Hoodi and other areas.
Authorities have explained that the deliberate power outages are routine and meant to boost the reliability of the electricity supply. BESCOM also clarified that these outages are not due to a shortage of electricity or any other major issue. these power cuts are limited to some areas and the company has smartly planned them so that people will not suffer from these cuts. The power supply will usually return once the work at each location is completed.
The power cuts are expected in areas across North, South, East, West, and Central Bengaluru.
According to BESCOM, the power cut timing will be between 9 am to 6 pm. The timing differs as per areas.
Whitefield, Hoodi, ITPL and Mahadevapura, Shivajinagar, Richmond Town and stretches near MG Road.
On December 6, the affected areas were – Hagadur, Prashanth Layout, Goyal Orchid Lakeview, Channasadra, Prestige Mayberry Apartments, GK Layout, Borewell Road, Nagaraj Layout, Bhuvaneshwari Road, Kadugodi, Siddartha Layout, Dinnur, Rustumji Layout, Upkar Layout, Vinayaka Layout, Naidu Layout, Dommarapalya, Whitefield Main Road, Sumadhura Apartments, Bhyrappa Layout, Adarsh Palm Meadows, VSR Layout, Kaithota, Alembic Apartment, Sai Ashrama, Karumariappa Temple Street, Gandhipuram, Belathur, Marvel Apartments, Patalamma Layout, Maithri Layout, Vijayanagar, Prithvi Layout, ECC Road, Brigade Cosmopolis, Swami Vivekananda Road, Nagondanahalli, Kumbena Agrahara.
On December 7, the affected areas were – Shivakumarswami Layout, Mavallipura, Krishna College Road, Guddadahalli, Kurubarahalli, Raghavendra Dhama, Madappanahalli, Shanthi Nagar, Ganapathi Nagar, KMF, Hosahalli Palya, KT Pura, Raghavendra Layout, Dasenahalli, Bilijaji, Achuth Nagar, Danish Farmhouse, Chikkabanavara, Linganahalli, Tharabanahalli, Kereguddadahalli, Bajjappa Layout, Kumbarahalli, Byalakere, Hesaraghatta, Madhugirihalli, Dwarakanagar, Mediagrahra, Guniagrahara, IIHR, Maruthi Nagar, Kondashettihalli, Hurulichikkanahalli, Pipeline Road, Somashettihalli, Kalenahalli, Ganigarahalli, TB Cross, Pakegowdanapalya, Silvepura.
The power cut timing was – 10 am to 6 pm on both days.
Notably, the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited is the company which is responsible for Power distribution in eight major districts of Karnataka – including Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Davanagere, Tumkur, Chitradurga and Ramanagara).
