New Delhi, Dec 15: The accused in the murder of a 7-year-old student Pradyuman Thakur in Gurugram’s Ryan International School was denied bail by Juvenile Justice Board on Friday. The board, while hearing the arguments of the counsel of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), acknowledged the release of the accused may affect the investigation of the murder case that shook the country.

As per media reports, the board also took cognisance of the psychological report of the accused. The report emphasised that the juvenile was well aware of the consequences of the crime. According to the report, the juvenile was even found drunk inside the school on one occasion.

The cold-blooded murder case of Pradyuman took a new dimension after the central agency trashed the probe by the Gurugram police. It gave a clean chit to bus conductor Ashok Kumar, who was arrested with the charges of murder and sexual assault in connection with the case, and arrested the juvenile.

The father of the high school student told a television channel that his son was innocent and they had been cooperating with the police from day one. “My son didn’t do anything. He informed the gardener and teachers after finding Pradyuman’s body. He stayed in the school the entire day, and appeared for the exam. There was not even a single spot of blood on my son’s clothes,” he told television channels after his son was apprehended by the CBI last month

Pradyuman Thakur, a student of the second standard of Ryan International School was found dead on September 8 this year.
