If reports are to be believed, the incident happened during a birthday party organised at the PC Banerjee Hostel in the varsity. Apparently, Shukla was approached by a youth who spoke to him initially and then fired at him from a close range. Following the incident, the accused fled the spot. Shukla was first rushed to a private hospital on Pannalal road. From there, he was taken to the SRN Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The main accused is a student leader of the CMP Degree College, police claimed. Meanwhile, an operation has been launched to nab him and other two accused.
Briefing about the incident, Superintendent of Police Brijesh Srivastava said, “The main accused, who killed Shukla, is a student leader of the CMP Degree College. Teams have been deployed to nab him and two others.”
Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem and an FIR has been registered in connection with the case. Further investigation is currently underway.
