New Delhi: The political heat in the Kerala’s Wayanad is all set to soar on Saturday as Congress General Secretary for UP East Priyanka Gandhi and Union Minister Smriti Irani will visit the constituency from where Congress President Rahul Gandhi is contesting the polls apart from Uttar Pradesh’s Amethi.

Priyanka Gandhi will address a public meeting at Manathanvady, after which she will meet the family of Central Reserve Police Force trooper Vasanthkumar who was killed in the Pulwama terror attack.

Later, she will attend a farmers rally and then go to Malappuram district, where there are two Assembly constituencies that are part of the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency.

Meanwhile, BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani will visit Wayanad to campaign for NDA candidate Thushar Vellappally. She is expected to hold a road show in Sultan Bathery.

Besides, Gandhi and Irani, CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan also will reach Wayanad on Saturday.

Notably, Wayanad will go to polls on April 23 in the third phase of the staggered elections. The Lok Sabha seat will witness a three-way battle between Congress president Rahul Gandhi, NDA’s Tushar Vellapally and CPI’s PP Suneer.
