New Delhi: In a bizarre incident, an AIADMK lawmaker A Anbalagan in Puducherry got into an ugly spat with Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on stage during an event on Tuesday. As per a report, the heated argument broke out over the duration of MLA’s speech, as he had surpassed his time to speak. In a video footage, shared by news agency ANI, L-G Bedi can be seen confronting the AIADMK MLA over the duration of his speech. “Please go,” Kiran Bedi can be heard telling him with a hand gesture. “An MLA’s Mike had to be turned off when he persistently rejected any request from panel of Honourable Ministers to limit his speech. He rejected all appeals. He shouted back. I have seen him do this earlier too. Event was to give away awards for good work done in making Puducherry ODF (sic),” Kiran Bedi tweeted.
As per a few Tamil channels, the argument began when the AIADMK MLA claimed that there were schemes in his constituency which were awaiting approval from the governor.
However, as the argument continued, local Administration minister A Namassivayam, who was also present at the event, intervened and tried to calm them down. The AIADMK lawmaker, however, refused to budge and walked out of the event midway.
