New Delhi: On one year anniversary of Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised questions over “inside-hand” in the attack asking if anyone has yet been held accountable for the security lapses that allowed the attack.

The BJP slammed him and called him a ‘known sympathiser of LeT’.

Was it a Result of Intelligence Failure?

Though the ministry of home affairs repeatedly refuted such claims, the CRPF inquiry report revealed that there was no specific threat alert for February 14. The convoy was also very long, the inquiry report said.

About 40 CRPF personnel were martyred after a Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist, Adeel Ahmed Dar, rammed his explosive-laden vehicle against a bus ferrying the CRPF soldiers. Tensions flared up and the relation between India and Pakistan significantly worsened after the CPRF convoy travelling to Srinagar came under attack. India had subsequently launched a counter airstrike at a JeM military base camp in Balakot.
