New Delhi: The Congress party workers were on Saturday captured showering money on the former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat’s son Virendra Rawat, at a tribute ceremony called for the 40 martyred soldiers of the Pulwama Terror Attack. The incident took place in Uttarakhand’s Roorkee.

The video posted by news agency ANI showed Virendra Rawat being showered with money by the workers, following which the Congress leader walks away. In the backdrop, two men are singing a bhajan and playing harmonium in the memory of the killed 40 CRPF jawans.

This comes days after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sakshi Maharaj was condemned for laughing and waiving during the funeral procession of a martyred CRPF jawan. The BJP leader was spotted in a truck, smiling at the crowd that was gathered to offer their last respects to the martyred jawan. Sakshi Maharaj was called insensitive and was criticised heavily by Twitteratis.

Pulwama Terror Attack

On February 14, 40 CRPF personnel were martyred in Jammu and Kashmir’ Pulwama after a Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus soldiers were travelling in. The mastermind of the attack Abdul Rasheed Ghazi alias Kamran – the Jaish-e-Mohammed commander– was gunned down by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir on February 18.
