Punjab Panchayat Samitis Election Results 2018: The counting of votes for Punjab Panchayat Samiti Election 2018 has begun. A total of 150 Panchayat Samitis in Punjab went to polls, on September 19 (Wednesday) wherein 58.1 per cent voter turnout was recorded. In the election, EVM was not used and the polling was conducted only through the ballot paper system. To avoid untoward incidents around 900 police personnel have been deployed at the counting centre, Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said. “To ensure transparency, the entire process of counting would be video-graphed ,” Sharma added. Besides, the Punjab Zila Parishad Election Results 2018 will also be declared today. A total of 22 Zila Parishad in Punjab went to polls with Panchayat Samiti on September 19. The voting started at 8 AM and continued till 4 PM in the evening.
