New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yet again tried to find a connection between Rahul Gandhi and Pakistan’s allegations after former interior minister Rehman Malik backed the Congress president as the “next Prime Minister of India”. Accusing Congress of prompting Pakistan to attack India on Rafale deal, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged that there was a conspiracy between Gandhi and Pakistan’s allegations to remove PM Narendra Modi. Referring to former interior minister Rehman Malik’s tweets, Patra said that, “The thread of commonality between Pakistan and Congress is not a mere coincidence. “Some people want Gandhi to become a big leader in India. Who are they? They are Pakistani leaders, and also those who stand for corruption, dynasty and politics of appeasement,” Patra said, claiming, “The Congress and Pakistan have this commonality that they have frustration with Modi, and their only aim is to remove Modi anyway from Indian polity.”
Earlier, BJP president Amit Shah kicked up a storm questioning if the Opposition Congress was forming an ‘International Mahagatbandhan’ against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Rahul Gandhi says ‘Modi Hatao’, Pakistan says ‘Modi Hatao’. Now Pakistan also supports Rahul Gandhi’s baseless allegations against PM Modi. Is Congress forming an International Mahagathbandhan against PM Modi?” Shah’s tweet read.
