Rahat Fateh Ali Khan deported from Hyderabad on New Year's eve

Hyderabad, January 1: Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali khan was irked on New Year’s eve by the immigration officer’s at Hyderabad airport who deported him from the international airport on account of immigration technicalities.

The ghazal maestro was on his way to Hyderabad from Abu Dhabi to take part in the programme organised by Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad on Thursday for New Year’s eve.

A report which appeared in Hindustan Times said that, Pakistani nationals are only allowed to enter in India only through gateways at metro airports which is in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta and Chennai.Read Also: (Actor Orlando Bloom deported, Sushma Swaraj comes to his aid)

At around 7 pm on Thursday, the immigration officers at Hyderabad airport denied full clearance to Rahat and was asked to wait at the airport. Report suggest that he was allowed to go back to Abu Dhabi only after the organisers of New Year’s show intervened.

According to reports the organisers managed to get a clearance from the the Union government, including the ministry of home affairs and made it possible for the Ustad to return to Hyderabad.

The singer then took a flight from Hyderabad to Abu Dhabi then he returned to New Delhi and from there he came to Hyderabad through a chartered plane.

Due to the unexpected deportation, Rahat’s show which was scheduled at 8 pm at Taj Faluknama Palace was rescheduled at 11pm on New Year’s eve.

At Taj Faluknma Palace, the Sufi music event was organised to promote harmony through Hyderabad’s heritage and culture.
