New Delhi, March 20: Congress president Rahul Gandhi targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi again and said that he was in denial about the threat of “mass unemployment” and his “acche din” claim would take a beating. Referring to economist Paul Krugman’s remarks at an event in which he had said that India has made rapid economic growth but warned that the lack of jobs could work against the world’s fastest growing economy, Rahul tweeted,”Mass unemployment is the biggest threat India faces. Unfortunately, we have a PM who lives in denial.” Also Read - Shaheen Bagh's 82-Year-Old Bilkis Named in Time Magazine's List of 100 Most Influential People

“The Nobel prize winning economist, Paul Krugman confirms what we’ve been saying for over two years now. Mass unemployment is the biggest threat India faces. Unfortunately, we have a PM who lives in denial. Afraid his”Acche Din” PR will take a beating,” Rahul tweeted.

However, this is not the first time the Congress president had attacked the government. A couple of days ago, while speaking at his party’s plenary session, Rahul had said that the 2019 Lok Sabha elections would be no less than the epic battle of Mahabharata between the ‘power-hungry’ Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ‘humble’ Congress.

He had also compared PM Modi with businessmen accused of committing fraud – Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi. “The man who looted banks, Nirav Modi, shares his surname with the Prime Minister as does the most corrupt man in cricket. What does Modi actually mean? The name Modi symbolises the collusion between India’s biggest crony capitalists and the Prime Minister of India,” Gandhi had said at the 84th Congress Plenary Session.
