New Delhi, Mar 12: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday intensified his attack on the Narendra Modi government over the Rs 12,600-crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud. Using the hashtag Modi Robs India, Rahul Gandhi reiterated the issue of alleged fraud involving celebrated jeweller Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi.

However, this was not the first time Rahul has targeted the Modi govt over the multi-crore scam. On March 6, Rahul and Congress MPs had protested against the PNB ‘scam’. Accusing ruling party of shielding Nirav Modi, Rahul had said that the guilty must be punished for their deeds.

A few days back, the Congress president had tweeted,”Under Modi Ji’s “Jan Dhan Loot Yojana”, another scam! 390 Cr., involving a Delhi based jeweller. Same Modus operandi as Nirav Modi. Fake LOU’s. Predictably, like Mallya and Nirav, this promoter too has disappeared while the Govt looked the other way.”

About PNB Fraud:

Nirav Modi and his uncle Mehul Choksi are accused in the Rs. 12,600-crore PNB fraud, causing a slugfest in the political corridors of India. The mega swindle started in 2011 and was detected in January this year, after which the PNB officials reported it to the concerned agencies.
