New Delhi, April 26: Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on late Tuesday night hit out at centre over the jawans of CRPF who lost their lives while fights with Maoists in Sukhma district of Chhattisgarh. Gandhi took to Twitter to vent out his anger, he wrote,” Last heard ‘demonetization’ was the Government’s strategy to neutralize Naxalism, adding,” I hope the ‘revised’ strategy has a little more purpose & impact.”

This was in response to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who today called a meeting of officials of various state governments on May 8. He stated that we have decided to revise our LWE (Left Wing Extremism) strategy if need be.  After the news of Sukma broke out, Gandhi, yesterday, on social media giant Twitter paid condolences to the martyred CRPF jawans. “My sincere condolences to the families of CRPF personnel martyred in the attack in .We salute the sacrifice&courage of our bravehearts ,” Gandhi yesterday wrote.

On this note, he further penned, This thoughtless violence will never succeed in weakening our resolve to fight forces of extremism. Congress vice president in one of his tweets added a picture of the jawans who were martyred. He, in this tweet, wrote: “We pay respect to the Brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the integrity of India.”

On Monday, 25 CRPF jawans were martyred in Chattisgarh’s Sukma district. About 300 Naxals had yesterday ambushed a 99-member team of soldiers who were patrolling the area. The Naxals were heavily armed with automatic rifles and rocket launchers. The outnumbered jawans battled the Maoists for more than two hours inflicting heavy casualties on the red terrorists.
