I am so happy to have this opportunity and to be able to share what I see on this beautiful journey with all of you.” His pilgrimage has been eventful from the word go. While a section within the BJP criticised him, saffron party MP Tarun Vijay tweeted in his support, drawing appreciative comments from the Congress. Congress spokesperson RS Surjewala took to Twitter to say, “Tarun Vijay ji, keep your spirits high and stand with the truth fearlessly. Whatever you wrote about Rahul Gandhi on his Kailash Yatra, you deleted it out of fear of the establishment. ‘Satyam, Shivam Sundaram’. Shiva is the truth. Mahadev will keep showing you the path to truth and falsehood will be destroyed.” (Also read: ‘Cong Solidly Backs Rahul’) Also Read - West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Meets PM Modi, Discusses Covid Situation, Vaccines During Talks

It was only after the said restaurant issued a clarification that the uproar died down. “There has been plenty of inquiry from the media regarding the food ordered by Rahul Gandhi, President of Indian National Congress during his visit at Vootoo. We would like to clarify that he ordered pure veg items from the menu. Vootoo has not given any statement to any media regarding the food items ordered by him. Thank You..,” the restaurant said on its official Facebook page.
