Ahmedabad, Dec 22: Congress president Rahul Gandhi will attend his party’s ‘chintan shivir‘ (introspection camp) which will analyse the Gujarat Assembly election results. The three-day camp started on December 21 in Mehsana district. However, the third and final day meeting will take place in Ahmedabad. Rahul will be present on the final day on December 23.

Rahul will be arriving at Gujarat University Convention Hall in Ahmedabad on December 23. He will meet Uttar Gujarat leaders at 11:30 am and after an hour he will see Madhya Gujarat leaders. He will also be meeting Kutch-Saurashtra leaders at 2 pm, followed by a meeting with Dakshin Gujarat leaders at 3:00 pm. At 4:00 pm, he will be meeting party workers after which he will depart for Delhi.

“The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee has organised the ‘chintan shivir‘ with the aim of discussing the Assembly poll results and to provide a road-map to strengthen the organisation and increase its connect with the people, keeping in mind the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” NDTV quoted Bharatsinh Madhavsinh Solanki , president of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee as saying.

In the Vidhan Sabha elections, the results for which were declared on December 18, the Congress could not wrest power from the BJP even though its tally increased to 77 seats from 61 in 2012 Assembly elections. The BJP bagged 99 seats against 115 in 2012 and managed to retain power for the sixth time. The Congress failed to make a significant mark in urban areas but performed remarkably well in rural areas of Gujarat.
