New Delhi, Aug 30: Light to moderate intensity rainfall was reported from parts of Delhi-NCR on Wednesday evening. The rain came as a respite for the residents, who have been witnessing temperatures above normal over the past couple of days.
Although 0.6 mm of rainfall was reported in some parts of the national capital on Tuesday, the temperature remained humid throughout the morning from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, the MET department said.
The temperature in Delhi, till Wednesday afternoon was recorded at a maximum of 35.2 degrees. By the evening, it came down to 27.7 degree celsius. The chances of light precipitation are stated to be rife over the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the regions adversely impacted by Monsoon continues to remain western Gujarat, which witnessed incessant rainfall today.
A day earlier, unprecedented downpour was recorded in Mumbai, Konkan, North Maharashtra and southern Gujarat. Mumbai, the financial capital of the nation was worst hit, with 366 mm of rainfall recorded between 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM on Tuesday. A total of 15 people reportedly lost their lives due to the waterlogging, whereas, a few are reported to be missing.
Weather on Thursday, however, remained calm in Mumbai and adjoining parts.
