New Delhi, May 1: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray joined micro-blogging site Twitter on the occasion of Maharashtra Foundation Day. Thackeray has gained approx 12,000 followers within hours of his Twitter debut.
In his first tweet in Marathi, the MNS chief remembered all those people who have sacrificed their lives for Maharashtra. “Today is Maharashtra day. Today Marathi Manoous got his own state and also got the recognition to Marathi language. To get this state, many people sacrificed their lives and suffered immense hardships. It’s a day to remember them and also to realise our responsibility. Jay Maharashtra!,” leading daily Indian Express quoted his tweet.
In his second tweet, Thackeray has shared a picture in which he is seen paying floral tribute to martyrs.
Meanwhile, Raj Thackeray has started his state-wide tour from May 1. Reports claim that the MNS chief will head to Konkon, Marathwada, western Maharashtra and Vidarbha. He had addressed a rally in Vasai, earlier in the day.
