Mumbai, April 8: In what appears to be a comeback rally, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray addressed large number of supporters and party workers in Mumbai’s historic Shivaji Park. The ground is known as den of Shiv Sena, the regional outfit which was founded by Raj’s uncle and god-like figure of Maharashtra politics, Bal Thackeray. MNS supremo spoke on a range of topics including the Ram Mandir controversy, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ row and relations with Pakistan.
Thackeray lashed out at the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-led government in the state and centre. He accused the saffron brigade, including Shiv Sena of not paying heed to the issues which were once raised by them to come to power. He specifically targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya. “When Amit Shah can get clean chit from all the heinous cases in less than 2 years of government formation, then why can’t the Ram Mandir controversy be settled?” (ALSO READ: Autorickshaw union writes to Devendra Fadnavis for action against MNS chief Raj Thackeray)
Fix ‘Bharat’ first. Then worry about saying ‘Bharat MaTa Ki Jai’ #RajThackeray

“Those who said we will teach Pakistan a lesson in their own language are now confused. Why have they not shut down the Samjhauta Express, if they consider it an enemy nation?” Raj Thackeray added.
MNS supremo also commented on the ongoing controversy surrounding ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. “BJP does not need to teach us what to say. We have been raising this slogan since childhood. I have heard this slogan in every rally of Indira Gandhi.” Thackeray claimed that issue of ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ is a joint strategy of BJP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. “BJP picks up such issues from time to time to divert attention from its failure in governance. Asaduddin Owaisi works hand in glove with them and add fires to such sensitive issues. This benefits both of these communal forces equally,” Thackeray added.
Exhibiting his commitment to secularism and harmony, Raj Thackeray cited the colour he has chosen for his flag. “The blue part of my flag is my tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar and and the committment of my party towards the Dalits. The orange part in the middle stands for ‘Hindutva’ amd the green part at the bottom is for Muslim patriots like Dr A P J Abdul Kalam and (musician) A R Rahman.”
