According to a News 18 report, Sepoy Somveer Singh was taken into custody after he was caught sharing sensitive information with a woman named ‘Anika Chopra’ whom he befriended her on Facebook two years ago. “The jawan has been arrested in Jaisalmer by the Rajasthan Police and the Army is providing all possible assistance to the civilian authorities in this investigation,” Defence PRO Colonel Sambit Ghosh said.

In October last year, BrahMos Aerospace engineer Nishant Agrawal was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police and their Maharashtrian counterpart at BrahMos’ Wardha Road facility in Nagpur for allegedly leaking “technical information” to Pakistan.
