Rajasthan Lok Sabha Election 2024: Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies, consisting of eight assembly segments in Rajasthan. Traditionally, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress have shared honours in the Bharatpur constituency, with the grand-old-party winning the seat 9 times while the BJP has won seven times.
However, akin to other constituencies in the state, the BJP has scored two consecutive wins, both by heavy margins, since the saffron juggernaut started rolling in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Bhagirath Chaudhary retained the key seat for the saffron party, registering a thumping victory over Riju Jhunjhunwala of the Congress by an impressive margin of 4,16,424 votes.
Amid a fierce electoral battle and a 67.10% voter turnout, Chaudhary 8,15,076 votes while his rival, Jhunjhunwala, could only manage 3,98,652 votes, less than the victory margin,
Elections for the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency will be held on April 26, 2024– Phase 2 of Lok Sabha polls– while votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day.

Bolstered by its recent victories in the Assembly elections in the three Hindi heartland states late last year, the ruling BJP in Rajasthan will be looking to retain Ajmer seat while the opposition Congress will be hoping to ruin the saffron party’s parade by springing a surprise victory.
The Congress has fielded Ram Chandra Choudhary from the Alwar seat who will fight a close poll battle against sitting BJP MP Bhagirath Choudhary.
Elections for the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan will be held in first two phases, April 19 (phase 1) and April 26 (phase 2) of the general elections. Votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day, the Election Commission has announced.
