Rajasthan Lok Sabha Election 2024: Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies, consisting of eight assembly segments in Rajasthan. A former stronghold of the Congress, the grand-old-party has captured the Udaipur constituency 10 times since the 1952 polls, however, much-like other constituencies in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has run roughshod, winning the seat in successive elections in 2014 and 2019.
BJP leader Arjunlal Meena has won the seat twice for the saffron party since the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections. In the 2019 polls, Arjunlal Meena retained the Udaipur Lok Sabha seat when he defeated Congress candidate Raghuvir Singh Meena by a thumping margin of 4,37,914 votes.
Amid a nearly 70 percent turnout Arjunlal Meena secured 8,71,548 votes while his rival Raghuvir Singh Meena could only manage 4,33,634 votes, less than the half of what the sitting MP and eventual winner received.
Elections for the Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency will be held on April 26, 2024– Phase 2 of Lok Sabha polls– while votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day.

The Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency was considered a Congress bastion prior to the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections when the BJP juggernaut started its epic run and ran roughshod over the opposition under the leadership of Narendra Modi who came to power on the back of a powerful mandate.
Sitting MP Arjunlal Meena, who secured the seat twice for the BJP, has been dropped by the party this time and will watch from the sidelines as the Mannalal Rawat looks to retain the seat for the saffron party against his prime opponent, Congress’ Tarachand Meena.
Historically, the Congress has won the Udaipur seat 10 times, while the BJP has secured it five times.
Elections for the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan will be held in first two phases, April 19 (phase 1) and April 26 (phase 2) of the general elections. Votes will be counted on June 4 and results declared on the same day, the Election Commission has announced.
