Rajasthan Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the dates for the Lok Sabha polls. Voting will be held in 7 phases starting from April 19. The voting for the elections is scheduled to commence on April 19, with the counting set to take place on June 4. Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan will be conducted in 2 phases; the polling for the first phase will be held on April 19.
Meanwhile, the polling for the second phase will be conducted on April 26. Presently, the state is heavily dominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The politically volatile state will witness a two-phase election across its 25 constituencies – Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa, Nagaur, Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chiĩorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar-Baran.

The polling will be held in two phases: April 19 and April 26.
Speaking of the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the Bhartiya Janata Party(BJP) won 303 seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) managed to secure only 52 seats. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, BJP, the saffron party won 282 seats, while the INC secured only 44 seats.
Earlier on Saturday, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) held a meeting of its Central Election Committee to decide the names of the candidates from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list, which is expected to be announced on Sunday, will include candidates from Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brijesh Pathak, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, among others.
In its fourth list, the Congress party announced candidates for 12 seats of Madhya Pradesh, nine of Uttar Pradesh, seven of Tamil Nadu, four of Maharashtra, two each of Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir, and one each of West Bengal, Assam, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh. The Congress has left the Nagaur parliamentary constituency in Rajasthan for the Hanuman Beniwal-led Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP).
