Jaipur, Sept 4: The election results of students’ unions in various colleges of Rajasthan have been declared today. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), students’ wing affiliated to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has won the students’ union election in State Law College, Pushkar Rajkiya Mahavidyalaya, Kota University and Barmer’s MBBS Girls’ College. The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI)-backed candidates lost elections at Pushkar Rajkiya Mahavidyalaya and other colleges. In Kota Universities, ABVP-backed candidate Pinkesh Meena won the the president’s post with 114 votes. Harshvardhan Singh Rathore won the president’s post in Jaipur Maharaja College. ABVP candidate Tanuja Charan won the students’ union election in MBBS Girls’ College at Barmer. In a Facebook post, the Rajasthan unit of ABVP said it has won students’ union election in Kota, Bikaner, Sanskrit University and in most universities and colleges across Rajasthan. The polling for students’ union polls in the government universities and colleges across Rajasthan was held on August 28. In the Rajasthan University, nine student leaders contested for the post of students’ union president. The NSUI candidate Deepak locked horns with the ABVP’s Sanjay.
