New Delhi: A moment of terror-scare gripped passengers on board Friday’s New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express forcing the Railways to press security agencies after a passenger claimed there were five bombs in the train. After receiving the information at around 5:15 PM, the Rajdhani train was halted at Dadri as the RPF conducted a thorough search. The bomb-scare was raised in a Twitter post by passenger Sanjeev Singh Gurjar who wrote, “I want to inform that there are 5 bombs in a train Rajdhani (12424) going from New Delhi to Kanpur Central. Please take some action on this quickly,” and tagged Ministry of Railways, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Delhi Police and the Indian Railways. The information was soon forwarded to the top officials of the railway administration. Responding to the tweet, the Superintendent of Government Railway Police, Agra, wrote from his official handle, “Regarding the above information, all the senior officers have been made aware that the train is being stopped at the post GRP Dadri and is being checked with the joint efforts of RPF and GRP.”
Bomb squads of local and railway police arrived and check each and every bogey for explosives and found nothing. No other railway services have been affected due to the bomb suspicion and the train is currently standing in the reserve line at Platform 2 of Dadri railway station.
The 12424 DBRT Rajdhani runs between New Delhi and Dibrugarh Town railway stations. It begins its journey at 4:10 PM from Delhi and arrives at the destination at 7:00 AM.
