Chennai, May 5: An anonymous person on Saturday called up the Chennai police twice and threatened to plant a bomb at Tamil actor Rajinikanth and Chief Minister E Palanisamy‘s house. As per sources close to the district police, both the calls were made from the same number.

The first call, threatening to plant a bomb at CM Palanisamy‘s house, was made around 1.50 PM. The second call was made by the person at 6.27 PM in which he threatened to plant a bomb at Rajinikanth’s house.

The Chennai Police is further probing the case from all angles.

On the other hand, a media report claims that the bomb threat turned out to be a hoax and police have arrested 21-year-old man who is said to have mental disabilities.

Chennai Police Commissioner AK Viswanathan has been quoted as saying in a report that recently, the same person had made a bomb threat call to the office of the Puducherry Chief Minister as well.

Reportedly, he was arrested on charges of making a hoax bomb threat to late chief minister J Jayalalithaa too.
