Jaipur, Feb 19: Shambhu Lal Regar, who is an accused of killing Muslim labourer from West Bengal Mohammed Afrazul in Rajsamand, made a video from jail and claimed a threat to his life. In the video, Regar alleged that a prisoner from West Bengal could try to kill him. The release of the video on social media raised several questions on jail authorities. Shambhu Lal Regar, in his video which has gone viral on social media, is imprisoned in Jodhpur jail. In his video, Regar alleged that a suspicious prisoner named Vasudev Brahman has shifted to his cell and may attempt to kill him. He further said that several prisoners in the jail are in touch with ‘jihadi elements’ from Pakistan and Bangladesh. He also said he doesn’t regret the crime he had committed. Regar hacked Afrazul to death and burnt his body on December 6 last year. He also filmed the crime and uploaded it on social media, triggering countrywide horror and outrage. He has been booked for murder, outraging religious feelings, and criminal conspiracy, among other charges.
