New Delhi, Aug. 3: Rajya Sabha adjourned for the day after heated exchanges on procedures regarding Sushma Swaraj’s remarks in the House. Despite all the efforts by the Government, yet another day was washed out because of the ruckus created by Opposition parties mainly Congress. The Congress and Left MPs were adamant on their demands of resignations of tainted ministers before the discussion in the house.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon after the Opposition stormed into the Well holding placards and raised slogans in the house. “Many members stand up and sometimes speak with and sometimes without permission. When an allegation is made against a member or minister, the member or minister can respond then and there,” said the Deputy Chairperson when the proceedings resumed. But Congress MPs refused to obey and maintained their stand. (ALSO READ: Parliament Logjam: Congress, Left adamant on resignation first debate later, Govt rejects demand)

“According to the rule book if personal allegations are made against a member, it is the right of the member to respond,” BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said. “Unfortunately Government wants everything to be done on its own terms and conditions,” said Opposition Leader of Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad. Meanwhile, uproar continues in Lok Sabha house over Lalit Modi row and Vyapam scam.
