Ralegan Siddhi, Nov 4: The police on Saturday detained a man who was trying to get close to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis while raising slogans against him. An ink pot has been recovered from the man, news agency ANI reported. The ruckus forced the CM to end his speech abruptly and leave the place.

Fadnavis had visited Ralegan Siddhi to perform bhoomi pujan of a solar power plant in the region.

The villagers of Ralegan Siddhi are reportedly against the setting up of the Gramrakshak Dal by Home Department. They have decided to oppose it until the demands of the farmers are met.

Although the initiative of setting up a Gramrakshak Dal by the Home Department, headed by Fadnavis himself, was welcomed by the villagers, a resolution passed in the recently held Gramsabha in the village has put the officials in a fix.

The Gramsabha, where the resolution against the setting up of the Gramrakshak Dal was passed, had expressed its sentiments stating that the Chief Minister should not come to Ralegan Siddhi unless an appropriate solution to problems faced by the farmers is reached.
