New Delhi: Ram Madhav, National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Saturday defended Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s “1992-like agitation” on the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya remark, saying and the temple supporters have started feeling anxious as the wastage of time on the part of the judiciary before 1992 is being repeated. Also Read - UP Election 2022: CM Yogi Adityanath Likely To Contest from Ayodhya

Terming the judiciary’s decision to adjourn the Ayodhya title suit till next year to fix a date for the hearing as “unfortunate”, Madhav said that RSS’s general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi’s agitation remark only articulated the sentiments of the Ram Mandir supporters. “Very unfortunate that dilly-dallying about Ram Mandir on the part of the judiciary before 1992, is being repeated. So Ram Mandir supporters are feeling anxious and RSS has only articulated that,” he said. Also Read - Ayodhya to be Connected Through Waterways With Other Destinations Soon - 5 Key Highlights

On December 6, 1992 Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was demolished, allegedly by a group of Hindu activists, claiming that the mosque was constructed after demolishing a Ram temple that originally stood there. Since then, several hearings have been held in the Supreme Court to resolve the issue. On October 29, the apex court adjourned the Ayodhya title suit till January 2019.

Reacting to the postpone the hearing of the title suit, Bhaiyyaji Joshi asserted that a movement similar to the one initiated in 1992 will be carried out, if necessary. Expressing disappointment, Joshi pressed for the immediate construction of a Ram temple in the land which, they claim, was the ‘janmabhoomi’ or birthplace of Lord Ram.

Addressing a press conference after the conclusion of a three-day working committee meeting of the right-wing group, he said, “We understand there are some obstacles in the creation of the temple. However, Lord Ram is there in every heart and he manifests through temples. We expect that the Supreme Court will consider and understand the sentiments of the Hindus while delivering a verdict at the earliest.”

Meanwhile, Hindu political activist Sadhvi Prachi called on all the Hindus to Ayodhya, saying they’ll have to lay the foundation stone of the temple on December 6, 2018. She further said that they don’t need anyone to give a nod to the construction of the temple.

“Ram ji ka mandir banega dhoom dhaam se. 6 Dec ko hi hume shilanyas karna hai. Ayodhya ke andar hindustan ke hinduon ko bulao, Ram Mandir ki ghoshna karo. Kisi ki zarurat nahi. Ram Mandir ban jayega (Ram Mandir will be constructed with much pomp and show. We have to lay the foundation stone on December 6. Call India’s Hindus to Ayodhya. Announce construction of Ram temple. We don’t need anyone. Ram Mandir will be constructed)”, Sadhvi Prachi said.
