New Delhi, June 26: Religious leader and former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ram Vilas Vedanti on Monday said that the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya will begin at any cost before the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Sharing the stage with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at “Sant Sammelan”, the former BJP lawmaker also said that it will be built even if there are no court orders for the same. “The construction will take time but one thing is sure that it will start before the 2019 elections. If the court orders come before the elections it is very good, but if it does not happen even then a grand Ram temple will be constructed in Ayodhya,” Vedanti said. Explaining it further, Ram Vilas Vedanti said that Mughal emperor Babur didn’t come with any orders to destroy the temple and the Babri Masjid wasn’t destroyed with any court orders. The former BJP MP said, “Ram mandir jo hai hamare desh ke pratyek Hindu ka vishay hai. (Ram Mandir is the topic of every Hindu in our country). When Babur had come in 1528, he had not come with any court orders to demolish it…when Ram Lalla appeared in 1949, he did not appear as per any court orders,” he said, adding that the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992, wasn’t done as per any court orders. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was also present at the function to mark the birthday of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, diplomatically said, “When Lord Ram showers his blessings on Ayodhya, the Ram mandir will definitely be built and there should be no doubt about it. At least there shouldn’t be any doubt among saints.”

Launching an attack on Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Adityanath said that he only remembers Ram temple during elections. “The Congress president remembers temples only during the elections. Four generations of Rahul’s family have never wore a ‘janeu’ (sacred thread worn by Hindus), but at the time of elections, he shows his janeu,” he added.
