Ranchi, Apr 20: The counting of votes for Ranchi Municipal Corporation Elections 2018 (Ranchi Nagar Nigam Chunav 2018) began at 8 AM on Friday. The results for 53 wards under the Ranchi Nagar Nigam are expected to be out by late afternoon. The Ranchi Nagar Nigam went to polls along with four other Municipal Corporations in Jharkhand on Monday, April 16. For Ranchi Nagar Nigam Elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Asha Lakra and Sanjiv Vijaywargiya against AJSU’s Kusum Ranjita Singh Munda and Munchun Rai for Mayor and Deputy Mayor post, respectively.

The counting of votes in Ranchi is being held at Pandra Bazaar and Kundru.

Ranchi Municipal Corporation recorded the lowest turnout of 49.3 per cent. It is the state’s largest urban local body.

Meanwhile, the counting of votes for Jharkhand Municipal Elections 2018 (Jharkhand Nagar Nikay Chunav 2018) is also underway in the state.
