New Delhi: The National Commission for Women (NCW) stated in its report that there was a delay on the part of state police in taking prompt action. Zero FIR lodged at 3.30 AM on September 13 but the FIR transferred at 7.15 PM. The scene of the crime wasn’t sealed also. Meanwhile, parents of the victim suspected the involvement of at least 10-12 people in the crime.

At least ten teams were formed on September 16 under a Special Investigation Team (SIT), to probe the Rewari gangrape case. A 19-year-old woman was abducted and gang-raped by three men after being drugged on Wednesday in Haryana’s Narnaul area. In the FIR registered at Kanina, police identified three accused — Pankaj, Manish and Nishu — whose pictures were released on Sep 16 itself.

The main accused in Rewari gangrape case, Nishu, has been nabbed, Nuh Superintendent of Police Naazneen Bhasin informed on Sunday evening. “Within 30 hours the SIT has arrested two people – Deen Dayal and Dr Sanjeev. The main accused Nishu has been nabbed, he is on his way,” she said. Elaborating on the whereabouts of the Army personnel accused in the gangrape case, she said, “He is absconding but he will be arrested soon.” (ALSO READ:  Rewari Gangrape: ‘Will Pay Rs 20 Lakh to Any BJP Neta For Rape by 10 People,’ Says Haryana AAP Chief)
