Mumbai, April 12: Veteran Actor Rishi Kapoor, who is very active on Twitter and often express his opinion on different issues, on Tuesday took on Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, who made offensive remarks against women’s entry into temples and spiritual leader Sai Baba. Rishi Kapoor slammed Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati saying the seer is uttering rubbish about women and Sai Baba.

“Old age is a problem. You are talking rubbish against women and a Faqir,” wrote Rishi Kapoor on his official Twitter account. The 63-year-old actor, who was last seen in “Kapoor & Sons” as family patriarch, advised Shankaracharya to watch his last movie and enjoy the last phase of his life instead of speaking rubbish. “See Kapoor & Sons and talk porn, hash, love of family. Enjoy your climax!” stated Rishi Kapoor. (ALSO READ: Worship of ‘unworthy’ Shirdi Sai Baba caused drought in Maharashtra, says Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati)

Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati has waded into a controversy by saying that entry of women in the Shani Shingnapur temple will lead to rise in crimes against them like rape. “Women should not feel triumphant about visiting the sanctum sanctorum of Shani Shingnapur temple in Maharashtra. They should stop all the drum beating about what they have done. Worshipping Shani will bring ill luck to them and give rise to crimes against them like rape,” he said. Swaroopanand also held the prevailing practice of worshipping Sai Baba in the temples of Maharashtra responsible for the drought in the state.
