New Delhi, Dec 24: Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party  leader Subramanian Swamy on Sunday took potshots at his own party after BJP polled less votes than NOTA (None of the above) in Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar (RK Nagar) Assembly bye-election.

Taking to Twitter, Swamy said,”TN BJP record: A national ruling party gets a quarter of NOTA’s vote. Time for accountability.” In another tweet the BJP leader predicted that the two AIADMK factions might unite under one banner for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

“Dhinakaran seems to have won the RK Nagar election caused by J Jayalalithaa’s death. I expect to see the two AIADMK factions now to unite for 2019 LS poll.”

Meanwhile, the supporters of rebel AIADMK leader TT V Dhinakaran have begun celebrating outside his residence, after trends in RK Nagar bypoll showed him inching towards victory.

TTV Dhinakaran was leading with massive  39,548 votes, followed by AIADMK’s Madhusudhanan who bagged 19,525 votes after eighth round of counting.  The counting of votes was halted for about 15 minutes after clash erupted between the AIADMK and Dhinakaran’s supporters outside Queen Mary’s college.
