Patna, Sept 21: The Rashtriya Lok Samata Party (RLSP) released its first list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. Names of 17 candidates chosen by the party were disclosed. RLSP is allotted 23 seats by by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
However, the announcement was filled with chaos. A ticket aspirant, Ashok Gupta disrupted the press conference and began protesting against non-inclusion of his name. Gupta alleged that he was denied ticket because Kushwaha wanted his close relative Sant Singh Kushwaha as candidate from Narkatia. The rejected party member has also accused the RLSP supremo of accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from him as price of the ticket. “I was denied ticket even after paying Rs 50,000. He (Upendra Kushwaha) wanted his close relative to contest from there, that is why name was cancelled,” Gupta said.
Meanwhile, RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha slammed BJP of acting in a brazen manner on seat distribution. He was irked on the placement of a BJP candidate in Minapur constituency in Muzzaffarpur district. According to Kushwaha, BJP president Amit Shah had earlier agreed to allow RLSP to contest from the seat.
