Rs 5 lakh looted from cash van in New Delhi

The police is searching the area and are talking to the driver and guards of the cash van.

New Delhi, Dec 19: Rs 5 lakh were looted from a cash van on Monday in New Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area. As per TV reports,  three armed robbers looted the cash van on gunpoint.  The incident took place near an SBI branch in Pandav Nagar area.

The van was to travel to many ATMs across the city to supply cash to Banks and ATMs. The police is searching the area and are talking to the driver and guards of the cash van. The driver said that the robbers were wearing helmets so their faces could not be seen. According to the police, the security guard claimed that the incident happened so quickly that he couldn’t react.

This is not the first time such incident has happened post demonetisation.

• In Bihar,  4.95 lakh were looted from a cash van.
• In Bengaluru, Dominic Selvaraj Roy, the cash van driver fled with Rs. 1.37 crore looted.
