Lucknow, May 8: Amid the ongoing controversy of banning illegal cow slaughtering and attacks by cow vigilantes across the country, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) backed Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) will start a campaign during the month of Ramzan called “No beef party – now cow milk party”. The campaign will appeal the Muslim community to not eat beef but start drinking cow milk at iftar parties.

Addressing the media on the  “No beef party – now cow milk party” campaign, Mohammad Afzal, the national convenor of MRM said that, “Muslims are blamed for cow-slaughter. We want to spread the message that Muslims also work for the protection of cows. After Roza iftar, MRM workers will offer cow milk sharbat to the rozedars.” Apart from appealing the Muslim community to not to eat beef, the MRM will also inform them about the benefits of cow milk and the why beef is “not good for health.”

The decision of organising “No beef party – now cow milk party” campaign was made during the two-day national executive meet of MRM at Piran Kaliyar Sharif near Roorkee in Uttarakhand. The MRM has been supporting the decisions made by the Centre and has also raised issues over topics ranging from Triple Talaq to Ram temple.

In the meeting organised, the MRM volunteers pledged to run awareness campaign among minorities informing them about the various schemes run by the government for the minorities. The MRM will also be appealing to the Muslim community to support the formation of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Claiming of owning around 100 gaushalas across the country, the MRM said that it wants to change the perception of Muslims being responsible for cow slaughtering.
