New Delhi, Sept 30: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief, Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday lauded the Modi government for handling the unrest in Kashmir effectively. He was addressing a gathering on Dussehra in Nagpur–an annual event. He said exposing the relations of separatists with Pakistan helped the Jammu and Kashmir administration to bring peace in Kashmir. He also alleged that Rohingyas had links with ‘jihadi’ forces.

“2-3 months back things were uncertain. But the way separatists were handled; police and army were given full control; the finances of anti-national elements were cut off and their relations with Pakistan exposed, yielded positive results,” he said.

He further said that the country gave a befitting reply to those who challenged India’s sovereignty– both on borders and on international diplomatic forums. He also lauded the government and forces to not budge from their positions during the Doklam standoff.

On the Rohingya crisis, the RSS chief said that the country hadn’t solved the problem of Bangladeshi intrusion when the problem of Myanmar had been “heaped on us.” He said the reason that they can’t go back to Myanmar was that they had links with ‘jihadi’ forces, due to which Myanmar adopted a tough attitude towards them. He further said Rohingyas’ criminal, separatist, and violent activities were the reason that Myanmar didn’t take them back. Any decision regarding Rohingyas should be taken by keeping in mind threat to national security, he added.
