Ruckus during Kanhaiya Kumar speech in Patna: Man beaten for showing black flag to JNUSU president; 2 held (Watch Video)

Patna, May 1: Jawahralal Nehru University Students’ Union President Kanhaiya Kumar on Sunday addressed a rally in Bihar, where a man showed black flag to him. However, the man was rounded up by Kumar’s supporters, who beat him up! This comes barely a week after Kumar was allegedly heckled aboard a Jet Airways flight while he was on his way from Mumbai to Pune, by someone that he claimed was a supporter of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Kumar has been on a tour of sorts and has been busy interacting with students and politicians, to gather support for the students’ movement started by him and several other students of JNU. Kumar was in Mumbai last week, where he had addresses conference of Students against Intolerance and Discrimnation in educational institutes. After that he had also addressed speeches in Pune and then he had moved on to Bihar. He is on a two-day visit to his home state, and is also scheduled to meet with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Kumar is scheduled to meet Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and other political leaders who had supported him against his purported struggle against ‘fascist forces’. He is also expected to visit his native village in Bengusarai and will also meet BJP dissident MP Shatrughna Sinha. Kumar was addressing the rally at SK Memorial Hall when the incident happened. A video has also emerged, wherein, Kumar’s supporters can be seen roughing up a man and tearing off his clothes, for showing a black flag of protest to Kumar.
