New Delhi: Devotees of Sai Baba who are travelling to select destinations in and around Shirdi can now book tickets for darshan online at the IRCTC website, i.e., irctc.co.in. The government is planning to launch the e-ticket facility on January 26 to avoid the long queues at the pilgrimage site. The railway e-tickets will be offered to passengers who are travelling to Shirdi Sai Nagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Nasik and Nagarsol.
IRCTC has restricted the users to avail only one darshan transaction. Currently, the facility is available for booking of paid darshan tickets. Later on, devotees can avail free darshans. In an official statement, IRCTC said, “A key facility is being launched for e-ticket holder devotees visiting the temple of Shri Sai Baba at Shirdi to book darshan tickets online on www.irctc.co.in.”
The passengers can choose their darshan date. Users having PNR (Passenger Name Record) with confirmed status can book the darshan ticket on the Booking Confirmation page. The darshan will be available only on the date booked by the passenger. However, users can visit the place at any time on the booked date. A print out of the Saibaba Darshan tickets can be taken from the Ticket Booked History page under My Account section of IRCTC website.
Meanwhile, an official said that donations worth Rs 14.54 crore was received by the Sai Baba temple at Shirdi in Maharashtra in over an 11-day period starting before Christmas and ending on the New Year day.
