Mumbai, Dec 13: Veteran actor Dileep Kumar’s wife Saira Banu has approached Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis accusing a Mumbai builder of threatening her and trying to usurp the family’s house located in the city’s upscale Pali Hill area of Bandra.
Saira Banu, in her letter to CM Fadnavis, claimed that the builder is pressurising her to hand over the property to him. She said that the builder has also created fake documents of the property and is also using his influence to grab the house.
“The accused is very well aware that my husband is 94-year-old and due to such pressure his health and my health is further deteriorating. The accused may use government machinery against me and my husband, I therefore request you to kindly order inquiry at the highest level anbd take immediate action,” Saira Banu wrote.
The said property was bought in 1953 by Dileep Kumar alias Yusuf Khan. The actor had entered into the agreement with Prajita Developers Pvt Ltd for developing his property, measuring 2412 square yards. (Also Read: Dilip Kumar’s recovery a miracle, says Saira Banu)
The dispute arose later as no construction was raised and the veteran actor wanted back the plot whose possession was with the firm.
In March 2016, the apex court had granted relief to Dilip Kumar by rejecting a plea to restrain him from creating third party rights over the Pali hill property till the arbitration of the dispute with a private developer.
In August this year, the Supreme Court had asked the actor to deposit a registration amount of Rs 20 crore with the real estate firm, which was appointed to develop the property. In September,
