Lucknow, Jan 11: Mulayam Singh Yadav along with his brother Shivpal Yadav addressed a gathering at the Samajwadi Party office in Lucknow on Wednesday. Addressing the crowd, the party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav talked about the ongoing controversy in the party and also stated that he tried his best to end the crisis in the party.”I went to Delhi so that no one could spoil the unity in the party. Trying to build momentum among the party workers before the upcoming assembly elections, Mulayam Singh Yadav said that “Your worry towards the party is natural as the party has been made through a lot of sacrifice. He also spoke about the Akhilesh faction and the battle for the cycle symbol of the party upon which the decision lies with the Election Commission. “I am not making any other party, nor am I changing the symbol. They (the Akhilesh faction) are the one making a different party.” He continued stating that “I have faced hardship in making the party. I will not let it split. Mulayam Singh blamed the Akhilesh faction for the crisis the party has been going through. He also stated that the Akhilesh camp has been trying to split the party. “They (Akhilesh camp) are forming another party. I have conveyed to the other side not to indulge in any controversy.” He continued stating that ” I know that they (Akhilesh camp) have met the presidents of other parties whereas I have given my all to ensure the unity in the party remains.”
On tuesday morning, the Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav met with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav but the meet failed to resolve the battle between both the warring camps. Now all the eyes are on Friday when the Election Commission of India will most likely decide upon which camp among the two will be entitled with the party symbol of cycle.
