New Delhi, April 17: The Delhi Police Crime Branch has filed an FIR against AIADMK Deputy General Secretary and Sasikala Natarajan’s nephew TTV Dinakaran for allegedly paying bribe for getting the ‘two leaves’ symbol for the RK Nagar bypoll (which has now been cancelled). According to reports, the FIR says that Dinakaran allegedly paid Rs 60 crore bribe to a middleman, Sukesh Chandrasekhar, who assured him of the two leaves symbol being given to the Sasikala faction.
According to reports, Dinakaran has been named as accused along with Sukesh in the bribery case and the police say that the deal was struck in a hotel in Delhi. The FIR has been filed against TTV Dinakaran under sec IPC 170 and 120b, 8 PoC by Delhi Police crime branch for allegedly offering bribe for the two leaves symbol.
The FIR came after Rs 1.3 crore were seized from the hotel. Reports say that luxury cars including BMW and Mercedes have been seized from Sukesh who has been arrested by the Delhi Police. Dinakaran may also be reportedly called for questioning by the police.

Dinakaran has, however, refuted the charges saying he does not know of any Sukesh and that he heard this name only on television channels. He has said that he will take legal recourse. Reports say that he has fled to meet Sasikala in Bengaluru Jail.
The DMK, the Sasikala Pushpa faction and the O Panneerselvam faction have come out against Dinakaran and say that the leader must be expelled from the party.
This is another setback for the Sasikala Natarajan camp days after Tamil Nadu Health Minister C Vijayabaskar was named in the Election Commission’s statement on cancelling the RK Nagar bypoll citing bribery of voters and illegal practices by parties and candidates. Vijayabaskar has also been summoned by the Income Tax department for questioning on Monday after raids were carried out across Chennai in connection with cash for votes complaints.
The Income Tax searches on the premises of an associate of Vijayabaskar had reportedly revealed routing of Rs 89 crore for distribution among voters for the RK Nagar Assembly bypoll, which was scheduled for APril 12, but was later cancelled by the Election Commission following the raids.
The Income Tax department had also raided the premises for Sarathkumar and S Geetha Lakshmi, the Vice-Chancellor of Dr MGR University, who have also been directed to appear before the department for further questioning on April 17.
